On May 31, 2005, Guillermo and Sara Casarrubias served their first cuisine as the proud owners of Trattoria on Pearl, formerly Trattoria Girasole. Sara and Guillermo are delighted to become part of Boulder’s longstanding tradition of independent retailers. Sara is the daughter of Jon and Susan Lounsbury, longtime owners of PlayFair Toys. She is also the granddaughter of the late John Shackleford, Jr., owner of Shackleford Jewelers on the Hill.

Sara commented, “I’ve lived in Boulder for most of my life. It is highly satisfying to be able to offer the people of this area a friendly, inviting place to dine where they can count of exceptional food that’s consistently well prepared. We believe customers come in for our delicious food. They will come back because of the entire dining experience — from memorable dishes to the welcoming atmosphere.”
